On December 6th, members of the LERIS laboratory had the opportunity to visit the Ericsson Research Center in Santa Clara, California, as part of the activities of the Smartness2030 project. Representing LERIS, PhD candidates Guilherme Matos and Washington Sousa joined two other researchers involved in the initiative for a productive day of technical discussions and research exchange.
The visit aimed to present and align both published and ongoing work within Smartness2030 with Ericsson’s current research directions. Throughout the day, participants engaged in high-level conversations on emerging technologies and innovative strategies for the future of communication and distributed systems.
The meeting reinforced the relevance of academic-industry collaboration in driving technological advancements and highlighted the potential of Smartness2030 to contribute to the evolution of next-generation communication infrastructures.
LERIS is proud to be part of this international effort and grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Ericsson’s research team. Initiatives like this not only strengthen our research but also open new pathways for impactful and globally connected innovation.
